Bicycle Fun!

Madeline has finally learned how to ride a big girl bike. No mini bike. No training wheels. Just her and the big girl bike...and lots of pads (helmet, elbow and knee pads). Hey, mom was a bit nervous. I make no apologies.

Look-a-likes!

Wow, my dear friend Brooke pointed out to me the other day how much Caroline looked like Landon. I agreed, yet when she makes certain faces she looks just like Madeline and me. But, I do agree that she looks a lot like her big brother and her daddy. Actually, she's a good combination of both of us. Her eyes and nose are DEFINITELY from the Peurifoy side but you can't deny that mouth and chin are Bret's. There is no question about that. But, when Brooke mentioned it the other day, I had to go back and look at Madeline and Landon's baby pictures to see just how similar they looked. You can judge for yourself but Landon and Caroline could've been twins!

Look at these look-a-like brother and sister. And yes, that is the same onesie on both of them. Actually, it was Madeline's first. And since it was not gender-specific, Landon wore it, too. And since Madeline and Landon wore it I had to keep it so our next could wear it too. If you don't have kids yet or only have one and plan on having more, I suggest you do something similar. It is fun to look at all of them in the same outfit!

Landon: One Month------------------------------Caroline: Two Months

Disclaimer: The lighting was bad when I took Caroline's picture so please do not judge her onesie by that. I do know how to do laundry correctly and yes, it is still white. Onesies on babies ARE whiter than they appear!

Angry much?

Normally, I would come home from Bible Study and go to bed reflecting on Beth Moore's words of wisdom and insight. Not tonight. I am here...on my blog because I just had to share the adorable anger of Madeline tonight. Adorable anger, you say? Well, like I said, Wednesdays are my Bible study nights and I get home a bit late. Madeline and Landon stay over at Nanny Ann's house while I am at Bible study (yes, she is also my sitter on Wednesday nights in addition to being Caroline's new nanny). So, I pick them up around 9:30 pm to which Madeline declares "Mom, I am not tired. Can I stay up until 10?". I politely tell her "No, sweetie. It's past your bedtime already. You will need to go home and go straight to bed." "Hm," she grunts as she folds her arms and pouts home. We walk in the door...still pouting. She goes to the restroom...still pouting. She then begins thinking of every excuse in the book to avoid getting in the bed. "Mom, I need someone to sleep with. I am going to find a stuffed animal." "Madeline," I say, "you need to get in bed. Tonight's not the night to begin sleeping with animals. "But, I need a drink," she continues. "No, you just used the bathroom and you know the rule. No drinks after your last tee-tee," I tell her. "Hm," she grunts again and with crossed arms and a scour look on her face crawls reluctantly into bed. The girls share a room so as I am giving Caroline her last bottle, rocking in the chair in their room, I can see Madeline pouting trying her best to not go to sleep, as if proving her point of not being sleepy will convince me she can stay up. Not five minutes go by and I look up to find her this way. The scripture "...Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry" Ephesians 4:26, has a whole new meaning now.

Caroline's morning at Nanny Ann's

Well, I am definitely spoiled when it comes to finding a great nanny for my precious Caroline. Ms. Ann (or Nanny Ann as I like to call her) has created a blog for me (she didn't even know I loved to blog!) and updates it all throughout the day so I can see what Caroline is doing. She even writes it to me as if Caroline were writing it herself. Each post ends with "I love you, Mommy. Love, Caroline". I love it! Today, she even posted pics of her play time. Caroline's blog is private so only I can read it (not that anyone else really cares when Caroline poops, pees and eats) so I "stole" the pics off her blog and posted her play time here for you to see the preciousness that is Miss Caroline Rene Lord.

Caroline meets her new friend

If you've been following this blog since the beginning then you may remember when Landon first met Avery when he was born. Boy, have Landon and Avery grown! So, now it was Caroline's turn to meet Avery. Avery is such the big girl now. She held Caroline so well and was so proud of herself. I told Bryan and Emily it was time to give Avery a baby brother or sister. They said maybe. So, we'll table that discussion and let them decide on that one. Here are some pics from the meeting:

Pumpkin Fest

On Saturday, we went to Pumpkin Fest at Kadee Farm in Greenville, Texas with our friends from our ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship), aka Sunday School class. It was so much fun and not to mention the first entire family outing we have had since Caroline has been born. What's more sad is that it was our first time to have our picture taken as an entire family as well. So the day, while loads of fun, was very special indeed. The kids had so much fun and Bret and I had fun watching them have fun. It was a delightful day.

Smiles and Coos

So, Caroline is finally smiling and cooing. She is a bit behind. But considering she's technically only supposed to be 3 weeks old, I would say she's doing pretty good. Excellent by my standards. I caught some play time tonight on camera so I thought I'd share some smiles and laughing. It doesn't hold a candle to actually seeing and hearing it in person, but it comes close.

Two Months

Well, well, Miss Caroline is 2 months old. She is precious and quite demanding. More so than the other two. I haven't researched it, but my guess would be that since she was in the NICU for 10 days, her physiological need to be cuddled and loved on were lacking a bit. I mean, I did what I could when I was there, but the nurses weren't and probably aren't supposed to be the cuddling types. So, my guess is once she got home, she CRAVED it so much that she is happiest being held. Of course the fact that I have her at work with me and can't let her cry for the sake of the Lake Pointe sermon I have to hold her at the ever-so-slightest peep. So, all this to say...she is quite demanding. She demands to be held. Problem: I have 2 other little ones that need my attention, plus chores around the house, plus work to get done at work, meetings to attend, errands to run, the list goes on. I haven't been able to do Baby Wise due to her being at work with me. I can't let her soothe herself to sleep (ie cry!) so she has manipulated her mommy well. Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE to hold her, love on her and kiss her. There is nothing better. But, I can't and shouldn't have to do that all day. Oh, but there is light at the end of this demanding tunnel. She starts at her new sitter on Monday. I'm sad, but excited at the same time. Maybe we can finally turn her into a Baby Wise baby after all. Please, God!

Caroline's stats at 2 months:
Weight 9 lbs. 8 oz.
Length 21.5 inches
