Madeline's Bottle Doll ~ Sacagawea

Madeline had to do a bottle-doll project about a famous American. Her choice- Sacagawea. For those, who like me, did not know who Sacagawea was, let me inform you. Sacagawea was a Shoshone Indian girl who was "captured" and sold to a french man when she was 13 years old. She became one of 34 people, the only woman, to accompany Lewis and Clark on their expedition to explore a way to the Pacific Ocean via the Missouri River. Since she was Shoshone, and they would be traveling through their territory, she was a guide and translator. She began the journey in 1805 when she was only about 16 years old, also with a new baby only 55 days old! Now, that's what I call a "super mom". Here is Madeline's bottle-doll that we worked so hard on and actually received the most votes for the best doll from her classmates. Way to go, Madeline!
